MASTERING THE SIDDHIS

Twenty-seven centuries ago, Patanjali, the great Seer (maharishi) of the Vedic tradition, cognized his masterpiece, The Yoga Sutras.  In his treatise, Patanjali describes the method for achieving mastery of the relationship between individual human potential and the laws of nature.  Very few masters have fathomed the truth of Patanjali’s teaching and techniques, and consequently his teaching had faded into obscurity until recently.

A siddhi is an extraordinary human practice of the sutras; a rare capability to interact with the laws of nature to manifest desires, and to live in accordance with nature from within one’s deep level of bliss consciousness. Once mastered, the siddhis are considered to be the most powerful and advanced technique in a meditator’s repertoire.

This is an advanced program, strictly for those meditators who have demonstrated dedication to their daily practice of Vedic Meditation and who have embraced the Vedic worldview. Now, with numerous graduates of his course Exploring the Vedas, and after four decades of teaching Vedic Meditation, Thom feels that there are a sufficient number of experienced meditators to study the siddhis. Thom feels that this course will mark a significant breakthrough in knowledge and experience for meditators everywhere.

SCHEDULE

There are six classes that make up the siddhis course, with each class delivered in three 2 1/2 hour sessions, usually delivered Friday evening, and Saturday during the day.  The classes build on each other and therefore must be taken in order.  Each class is conducted in a “semi-retreat” format, which means that students come together with an Initiator serving as the teacher and facilitator, listen to the lectures, then have a Q&A session with the class members and the Initiator.

PREREQUISITE

The prerequisite for this class is completion of the first EXPLORING THE VEDA class.  If the Siddhis are started before all 6 Exploring the Veda classes are completed, each Siddhi course must be preceded by the corresponding Veda course.  For example, the Exploring the Vedas #2 must be completed before taking Mastering the Siddhis #2.
