Modern society has burdened us with the untenable view that sex is taboo, in conflict with our spiritual self, or tempts us away from our efforts to be more enlightened.  We are taught to whisper when we speak of sex, to use it as a basis to judge others, and to associate it with dysfunctional behavior.  In contrast, sexuality is addressed extensively in the Veda and is held sacred.  It is respected as a blessing and an expression of Consciousness and unity.  This class allows us to recast our views of sex as a joyous and sacred element of a well-balanced life.

Topics covered will include:

  • The cosmic purpose of sexuality
  • Sex as a love expression
  • Dysfunctional sex vs. functional sex
  • The myth of heterosexuality
  • Masculine and feminine elements
  • Sex as a tool for enlightenment

SCHEDULE

This class is delivered in three 2 ½ hour sessions, usually delivered Friday evening, and Saturday during the day.  The class is offered at various times throughout the year and it does not need to be taken in sequence with any other course.  This class is conducted in a “semi-retreat” format, which means that students come together with an Initiator serving as the teacher and facilitator, listen to the lectures, then have a Q&A session with the class members and the Initiator.

PREREQUISITE

In order to participate in this class you must have taken INTRODUCTION TO MEDITATION and be actively practicing meditation.

FEE

This class is $500.  Payment for the class must be received at least 2 days prior to commencement of the class and payment can be made with cash, check or a major credit card.
